He then debutted as First Bassoon in the Sanremo Simphony Orchestra in 1981 and afterwards took first prizes in the Milan Musical Afternoons Orchestras competition (1983) and the Tuscan Regional competition (1984).
In 1985, he won the Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia competition for First Bassoon soloist, which position he currently holds.
Mr. Bossone maintains a busy concert career in Italy and abroad, both as soloist and in chamber groups. He collaborates whit Antonio Pappano, Myung-Whun Chung, Michele Campanella, Uto Ughi, Giuliano Carmignola, Massimo Quarta, Antony Pay, Franco Petracchi, Ennio Morricone,Alexander Lonquich, Heinz Holliger and other artists.
As the representative of the Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia, he took part in 1990 Carnegie Hall concert organized by the New York Philarmonic Orchestra in memory of Leonard Bernstein.
He was invited by Daniele Gatti to perform as First Bassoon with the London Royal Philarmonic Orchestra and by Lorin Maazel with the Symphonica d’Italia; Claudio Abbado invited him to fulfil the same role with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra as both soloist and ensemble member.
He also teachs numerous courses and master classes.
